  • Dr Diane Sheehan

    Di Sheehan graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) in 1987 with a degree in veterinary science. After gaining experience in in a small animal practice in the UK, Di completed her MBA at UQ and then became a member, diplomat and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    Di has lived in the Chelmer Graceville area for 20 years and after working at Westlake, settled back into practice in Graceville.

    In 2007 Di became the President of the Australian Veterinary Association, after her time as President of the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association and President of the AVA Queensland Division.

  • Her involvement in veterinary politics also includes time on the Queensland Government animal ethics committee, AVA finance committee and was Chair of the World Small Animal Conference Organising Committee.

    Currently Di is a member of the Biosecurity Queensland Ministerial Advisory Council and an ambassador for BES Business Events Sydney.

    Her areas of interest in veterinary medicine include internal medicine and feline medicine in particular and she enjoys keeping up with continuing education streams at conferences.

    Di has two cats, a magnificent Abyssinaian and a young cheeky Ossicat.


  • Barb Joppich
    Veterinary Theatre Nurse

    Barb's Veterinary Nursing career started in Darwin in 1979. She worked for 2 years as a Vet Nurse at the Rapid Creek Veterinary Practice where she put into practice all of her previous nursing skills gained from five years of hospital nursing. During the time she was working in Darwin the first cases of Parvo Virus were seen in Australia.
    After returning to Brisbane, Barb was employed at the University of Queensland veterinary Science Medical and Surgical Department as a Theatre Nurse. Her duties included everything from sterilizing equipment, theatre scouting, scrubbing in and teaching the 4th and 5th year Veterinary students basic theatre skills. She worked in the Small Animal theatres for 23 years.

  • Barb began working at the Fiveways Veterinary Practice Graceville, in 2007 as a part time Theatre Nurse/Receptionist. Barb is currently in charge of the theatre and kennel areas.

  • Nicole Gluch
    Veterinary Nurse

    Nicole is a fifth year Veterinary Science student and has been working at Fiveways Veterinary Practice since 2013. After working as a Registered Nurse she decided it was time to switch to fluffier clientele.

    When not studying or working, Nicole enjoys pampering her pets: a dog named Digby; her cats Angus, Maeby and Izzy; and cockatiels named Louie and Tommy.

  • Shuting Jin
    Veterinary Nurse

    Shuting is a third year Veterinary Science student and started at Fiveways Veterinary Practice in 2015. She has a BS in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and worked in clinical research in the United States before coming to Brisbane.

    Shuting only has a few fish and shrimp as pets at the moment, but frequently borrows her neighbour's cat for cuddles.
